Waste-Not Program

Join us in making our community more sustainable

You can find Waste-Not-Tents at local community events like Third Thursday Street Fest, Willimantic Hop Fest and Downtown Country Fair.  Waste-Not-Tents are a form of waste diversion that began as part of a program started as a Sustainable Windham Initiative through a grant from Sustainable CT.

WCFN assists in coordinating, staffing, and educating, while CLiCK Inc. coordinates the hauling of the compost,  brought back to CLiCK’s community composting site.

The program's goal is to divert our community's waste out of the landfill. Volunteers help event vendors and attendees sort their waste into the correct bin (recycling, trash, or compost) and educate the importance of waste diversion.

This program is working to establish a more environmentally sustainable Windham and is working to expand throughout the region.
